About
She earned a diploma in Interior Design from Fanshawe College, London, Ontario. She took one year of Fine Arts at Georgian College in Barrie, Ontario. Lynda has also taken courses in Watercolour, Printmaking, Fashion Illustration, Architectural Perspective and Airbrush from the Ontario College of Art, Ryerson Polytechnic University in Toronto and from Alberta College of Art in Calgary.
Working in different areas of design led her to Architectural Rendering. She apprenticed with Bill Ross, Architectural Illustrator of Calgary for 2 years. She did freelancing for several years and then got married to a Frederictonian she had met in Calgary. They had 2 daughters and she has pursued painting full time since then.
She has shown locally at Marba Art Gallery, Gallery Connextion, Sue Lawrence Spa, and La Centre Communitaire Saint-Anne. She has also shown at the Laura & McCain Art Gallery, Florenceville, Seacoast Gallery and Sunbury Shoresd Arst & Nature Centre in St. Andrews, and the Dr. Walter Chestnut Library, Hartland. She also exhibits in group shows with Fredericton Society of Artists and Turps yearly. She has sold Originals and Prints in the Christmas Arts and Craft Market at the Capital Exhibition for 14 years.
Her paintings have morphed from realistic to a much freer attitude. Watercolour is still her favourite medium but she also uses acrylic, inks, watercolour coloured pencils, and mixed media. The wonderful influence of natural light and nature itself is present in her work today.
